2 Burmese youths seized with two pistols and ammunition in Bangladesh


Cox’sbazar: Bangladeshi authorities arrested two Burmese youths along with two pistols and 29 bullets in Bangladesh on Wednesday, according to local officials and media reports.
They were seized by a Border Guard Bangladesh member with the help of the Bangladeshi local people at 7:30 AM on 3 April while they were entering into Ramu area in Cox’s bazaar district from the Burmese border.
Two 9 MM pistols and 29 bullets were seized from them, the report said.
According to reports, among them, one is 20 year old Hla Tun and another is 25 years old Chan Chan Ray, both from Burma’s Arakan state.
Later the BGB handed over the two youths to Ramu police station to take action in accordance with Bangladesh laws.
A local Rakhine resident in Ramu confirmed the arrest and they were likely to be members from an Arakanse armed group fighting against the Burmese central government. The group is now looking for a base on the Bangladesh- Burma border to attack the Burmese government.
